Bantwal: Shops Torching incident - Two Arrested

Bantwal, Mar 25: In connection with the incident in which two shops had been torched and partially damaged on the night of Sunday March 22 here, Dayanand (27) and Sandesh (22) from Bhandaribettu have been arrested, informed circle inspector Nanjunde Gowda.

Other two accused in the incident, Lokesh and Sunil have gone into hiding. The incident was in retaliation to the pelting of stones at a car in which Hindu activist Surendra Bantwal was travelling a few days ago, he explained.

He also said, a person named Ubaidulla has already been arrested for stoning Surendra's car and posing life threat to the latter. Investigation is continuing about the involvement of other persons in the incident, he added.
