Udupi, Mar 25:
A one day’s media workshop for the BJP media wing of Udupi, Chikmagalur, Shimoga, Dakshina Kannada and Uttar Kannada districts was held on Wednesday March 25 at the BJP district office located at Kunjibettu, here.

State law and urban development minister S Suresh Kumar inaugurated the media workshop on Wednesday morning.

Speaking at the occasion, minister Suresh Kumar said that the Congress has ruled the nation for five decades out of the 62 years since Independence, but was not able to hand out rice at the rate of Rs 3 per kilogram to the citizens, whereas it suddenly has come out with an announcement of distributing rice at this rate, suddenly when the Lok Sabha polls are nearing.  United Progressive Alliance (UPA) that came to power five years ago has become an  Unproductive Alliance.  It has to account for Rs 51,000 crore that has gone down the drain  in  implementing Employment Guarantee Scheme, he added.

National Democratic Alliance (NDA) that ruled for a few years had implemented four lane works, Pradhan Mantri’s Gram Sadak Yojana, Ganga – Cauvery linking project and several people-friendly welfare programme in the country, he said.  Meanwhile, he urged the BJP activists to make efforts to make people known about the schemes that were introduced by NDA during its rule and also by  the BJP that is ruling the state  now.  About 4.3 crore new voters have so far been registered in the country while Karnataka accounts for nearly 90 lac in this regard.  These new voters should be reached out so as to have positive  impact in the forthcoming Lok Sabha Polls, the minister advised the party activists.

The country needs the leadership of the  most capable prime minister in the form of veteran BJP leader L K Advani, minister Suresh Kumar stressed.

State BJP spokesman V Dhananjay Kumar and Third Finance Commission former chairman A G Kodgi were present at the dais.

BJP district spokesman Katpady Shankar Poojary welcomed the gathering.  Suprasad Shetty compered the programme.
