Karkala, Mar 27: The BJP publicity campaign for Udupi- Chikmanglur constituency will begin from Karkala taluk on Sunday March 29.

Prior to the meeting, the procession will commence from Swaraj Maidan to Gandhi Maidan of Karkala at 2 pm. Later D V Sadanand Gowda, state president, BJP, will inaugurate the public conference, said Sunil Kumar, former MLA, speaking at the press conference on Wednesday March 26.

Bola Prabhakar Kamat, leader, Anant Kumar, national general secretary, V S Acharya, state home minister, sandalwood actors like Sai Kumar and Shruti, M K Vijay Kumar, lawyer, Vidhan Parishat members like Kota Srinivas Poojary and Captain Ganesh Karnik and MLA's like Lalaji Mendon, Raghupati Bhat, Halady Srinivas Shetty and Lakshminarayan will participate on the occasion.

The purpose of the campaign is not only to gain victory by winning D V Sadanand Gowda but also to gain success through large difference of votes at Karkala Constituency, he siad.

The primary level publicity programme of the Karkala Vidhan Sabha constituency has been completed and the five teams of taluk office-bearers will conduct the second level publicity programme, said Kumar.

The congress party is still in search of its candidate for the Udupi- Chikmanglur constituency. Through this it has already accepted its defeat. The congress party decided to give away the ticket for those who are willing to donate the fund for the election and this reflects its purpose, he criticized.

Sadashiv Shetty, taluk president, BJP, Purushottam Rao, secretary, Sunil Kumar Shetty, Anand Bandimath and Arif Kallote were present at the press conference.
