A press statement released by P B D’Sa, district president, PUCL, said the attacks were   unlawful and an instance of human rights violation. It also said that as the under trials are in court custody, the attacks amounted to contempt of court.

"Small incidents" that is what Acharya and the Swamys have to say. Comments don't effect them. Neither the change in the top police brass has brought about any improvement in the law and order. Little wonder DC Ponnuraj too is silent.

Administration of jail comes under the Home Ministry. Mr. Acharya is answerable for the unlawful act inside the jail. Such attacks on minorities are increasing by the days.

Yes, Mr. P.B. D'sa is absolutely right. Every inmate (irrespective of any community) under the jailers responsibility should be protected and any harm or injury caused to an inmate by his fellow inmates becomes the responsibility of the jailer as well those responsible.

Strict action should be taken against the jailer and fellow inmates, and the Court as well as the entire district administration too should be equally held responsible, for such incidents are totally a violation of human rights.
