Mangalore: District receives Scattered Rainfall: Lightning claims One Life

Mangalore, Mar 30: The district received scattered rainfall on Sunday March 29. Many places in Bantwal taluk got low intensity rains.

On Sunday evening, light showers were experienced in Subrahmanya. On Saturday night, the region had received hailstorm for about half an hour.

In the afternoon on Sunday, Karkala taluk experienced rain coupled with thunder and lightning in many places. In Puttur, taluk, a person died due to lightning that struck two houses in Tingalady village, with three more persons suffering injuries.

Monappa (28), a resident of the Dalit Colony there, died of lightning. Lalita, mother-in-law of Monappa was injured.  In another case of lightning, two women named Rita and Rakshita were injured.
