Sullia Apr 1: "As of now, the erstwhile Jan Sangh does not have a separate entity of its own. It was merged with the BJP in the past," claimed Krishna J Palemar, district in-charge minister, speaking at the BJP booth –level workers meeting held at Durga Parameshwari Kala Mandir here, on Tuesday March 31.

“The information that veteran leader of BJP Ram Bhat will be contesting the election as the candidate of Jan Sangh party has provided us relief to some extent, since it is not a different party, but had been merged with BJP,” he said.

Replying to the queries of media persons, Palemar admitted that Janardhan Poojary is a veteran Congress leader, but people had rejected him in the past. “He himself must think over this fact. People have been craving for a fresh face,” he added.

The BJP government in the state has succeeded in pumping Rs 470 crore into the district in just eight months time. This achievement will help the party to win in the Lok Sabha election, he said.

The opposition parties have tried to blemish the reputation of the party by leveling allegations and spreading malicious rumours including linking it to the pub attacks. The BJP chose a common party activist like Nalin Kumar Kateel with the purpose of ensuring that the candidate is able to freely mingle and reach out to the public, said Palemar.

Jayaram Rai compered the programme.

Jayaram Shetty, former MLA, MLA Angara, party leader S N Manmatha, A V Teertharama, Venkat Dambekody, Shivanna Idyadi, Bhagirathi Murulya, Satish Naik, Shankar Peraje, N S Suvarnini, P K Umesh, Monappa Poojary, Veena Montadka, Pulasya Rai, Muralikrishna Challangaru etc were present at the meeting.

I am confident that not just the people of Mangalore but all over Karnataka will teach the BJP a fitting lesson for damaging the reputation of Karnataka and indulging in communal politics.
