Mangalore: 'Vision' to Explore Hidden Talents of Special Children

Mangalore, Apr 3: A handicrafts and painting exhibition,’ Vision- 2009’ will be held at Kadri Park here on Saturday April 4 and Sunday April 5.

The event is being organized by Corporation Bank for showcasing  the hidden talents of the special children of Sanidya Special School, being run by by Ganesh Seva Trust of Bikarnakatte Kandettu here, said Vasant Kumar Shetty, honorary secretary of the Trust.

J M Garg, chairman, Corporation Bank will inaugurate the exhibition on April 4 at 4.45 pm.

Jayashankar Sharma, director of Sri Kshetra Dharmastala Rural Development Scheme, A Shakuntala, deputy director, Women and Child Welfare department and H N Hema, deputy director of Horticultural department will be present.

The students of Sanidya Special School will perform a Kannada play titled ‘Asooye,' and also present a puppet show on the first day at 7 pm.

Prof N Vajrakumar of Dharwad was rewarded with cash prize of Rs 25,000 and a memento on the basis of the activities conducted for the children of the school earlier, he said.

M B Devadatta Rao, vice-president of the Trust and Jagadish Shetty, treasurer were present at the press conference.
