Mangalore: Kavoor Police Seize Car Transporting Seetharam Yechury

Mangalore, Apr 5: A car belonging to the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)), Kasargod, was seized  by  police in Kavoor limits on charges of violation of the election code of conduct on Saturday April 4. 

Seetharam Yechury, politburo member of the (CPI (M)) was traveling to Kasargod from Mangalore airport. The car had the party flag on it, in violation of the election code.  

Kavoor police said that the car was released after removal of the flag. 

Following the seizing of the car, Yechury traveled by another vehicle. No complaint has been registered and but notice has been served by the police to the owners of the car.
