Bangalore: Advantage BJP in State, says NDTV Survey

Daijiworld Media Network - Bangalore (SP)

Bangalore, Apr 10: If the NDTV pre-poll survey is to be believed, the BJP continues to hold sway over the people in the state, even though it is not as strong as the party claims. As against the 20 to 22 seats the BJP claims it would win, the survey says, the BJP would be able to corner 15 of the 28 Lok Sabha seats in the state. It may be recalled, that in 2004, the party had won 18 seats.

The survey puts the Congress's probability of victory in 11 seats while the JDS will retain its two seats, with 'no loss, no gain'.  As per the survey, chief minister Yeddyurappa continues to be the most popular leader in the state at 34%, closely followed by ex-chief minister S M Krishna, who has a following of 31% of the state's people. H D Kumaraswamy is a distant third, at 21%.

43% people have expressed satisfaction about the government's efforts in mitigating problems on water, road and power fronts while 44% have said that they are not satisfied. 52% of the people surveyed said they are not happy about the role of the government in preserving social harmony while 39% said they are satisfied.  43% are unhappy about the government's efforts to create jobs. As against this, 43% said the efforts of the government are not enough. Even in regulating cost of living, the government efforts have not been found to be enough by 47% while 34% said they are happy.

As regards the Mangalore pub attack incident that attracted international attention, 27% said they are happy the way the government has dealt with the culprits involved, while 52% expressed disappointment.

NDTV is one of the best news chanel in india at present no doubt about it. But when it comes to highlighting failures of Government they are biased. It is very clear if anybody watch this channel they are pro some political party. During Gujarat elections channel worked so hard against Mr.Modi they litrally campaigned for major political party. Unfortunately results were absolute opposite they had keep quiet for some time. In fact after GUJ election results we hardly see any news about Gujarath from this channel. Now they are Karnataka & doing the same what they have done earlier. Whereas congress party is under tremendous pessure retaining their leaders & workers with them until election gets over. Congress always party with defferece but now they have defferece within the party. NDTV trying to play emotional game projecting more seats to congress so that people who are in double mind can vote for congress. Good work again NDTV.

BJP in the state certainly has advantage, mercy Hindutva related power politics. The ploy is very simple invoke insignificant voters with illogical act(culture, pub, church attacks etc) and demand majority to rally behind party (bjp). This worked in Gujarath & shows it is works in Karnataka as well. Can a 2%, generally, harmless, non-voilent, unarmed Christians be up against Hindus? Who are friends, colleages, neighbours since ages? Yes, says politics. The TRUTH, seems dead along with Godse's bullet.

We don't trust in such NDTV or any other surveys, only the verdict is known after countings is finished on 16th May. Yes it is true BJP has grown strong and communal violence is getting stronger day by day-perfect example is Dakshina Kannada & Undupi districts after BJP rule. Oh god please save.

Whatever the survey results are, as long as the congress party in Karnataka does not clean up and throw out the useless leaders like Oscar, Poojary, Moily etc, there is good chance for BJP to win more seats. People will decide and throw out the useless, good for nothing leaders. People have done it before.

Surveys are surveys depending on who conducts and when they are conducted. The sample of respondents are often so small that it is not indicative of people's mood. Besides, the picture in the state is changing against the BJP with power cuts, communal conflicts, internal bickerings with the party fighting within it. Yes, BJP may win some seats. But to predict 15 seats for a bankrupt party without candidates of its own since most of the candidates are those who defected from other parties is pure partisan predition. NDTV has always favoured the BJP. Did we not watch them at the coverage they ofered to Mahajan vs. K. R. Narayanan, the former President when he died and their other interpretations of facts. Why do they often invite people like Kulkarni, Modi, Prasad, Rajnath and Sushma to their channels to defend the undefendable. Besides, again and again, NDTV has been proved wrong in their prediction of elections. Amruth Rao

Those who have labelled NDTV as pro-minority channel have any comment. Now their survey is for BJP and hope that their view for NDTV will change.

Its very unfortunate on the part of the BJP to import candidates from other parties to fight elections. They have experienced the loyalty of these migrants in Mr. Sangliana and others. A senior and veteran congres man like D B Chandre Gowda who has been in congress for more than 3 decades cannot change his colors overnight nor people forget him so easily. Bangalore being a cosmopolitan city being a gowda will certainly not win him votes.
