Kadaba: Financial irregularities - two temple employees suspended

Kadaba, May 13: President of the managing committee of Sharavoor Goddess Durgaparameshwari temple in this taluk, which is under the department of religious endowments, has suspended two of the temple employees. President, M Kamalaksha Rai, has suspended them on the allegation of indulging in financial irregularities.

The suspended employees happen to be N Sridhar Acharya Nagri, and Jayant Kumar Kinnigoli. The managing committee has accused them of being involved with financial irregularities during October and November, 2018. They have been accused of leaving the service counter unattended in open condition when going away, without the prior permission of the managing committee.

The managing committee had sought permission of the said department through a letter dated April 29 to hold internal inquiry on the irregularity. The deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district accordingly asked the committee to take action as per department rule 17 by appointing an inquiry officer. Based on this, the employees were suspended.

Temple managing committee president, M Kamalaksha Rai, said that both the above employees stand suspended and that steps would be taken after appointing an inquiry officer.
