'Send Moily Back to Mangalore' : Yeddi Asks Chickballapur Voters

The Hindu

GAURIBIDANUR (Chickaballapur District), Apr 12: Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa on Saturday launched the Bharatiya Janata Party’s election campaign in Chickaballapur constituency by asking voters to defeat Congress candidate and former Chief Minister M. Veerappa Moily who was an “outsider” to the region.

Addressing a huge rally at Gauribidanur, Yeddyurappa said after stepping down as Chief Minister Moily had stayed away from State politics and questioned his contribution to the State in the past 15 years. Moily had confined himself to Mangalore and was defeated thrice in his home district. Now, he has shifted to Chickaballapur.

“Please send him back safely to Dakshina Kannada,” Yeddyurappa said.

The Chief Minister said the Congress was playing musical chairs by fielding  Moily of Dakshina Kannada in Chickaballapur and C.K. Jaffer Sharief, who had sought the ticket for Bangalore Central, from Bangalore North.

Responding to a reported statement by Leader of the Opposition M. Mallikarjun Kharge on the achievements of his Government, Yeddyurappa said he would take political retirement if he failed to provide good roads and better health and educational facilities before the end of his five-year term as Chief Minister. He said BJP would win 24 seats in the State.

Some prominent Congress leaders from Gauribidanur taluk, who are supporters of Chickaballapur MP R.L. Jalappa, joined the BJP on the occasion. Among those who joined the BJP were R. Ashok Kumar, K.V. Hanume Gowda, Mohammed Abubaker and S. Ramesh.

It shows his hatred towards Mangalore. It is time D.K. and Udupi start demanding for a separate state called Tulunadu. Look at all these outsiders who come and create trouble in Mangalore - Mahendra Kumar, Pramod Muthalik etc. Politicians in Bangalore have always ill treated D.K. and Udupi. Those who get elected from here become their chamchas and only seek self promotion. Tulunadu will prosper once we become a separate state.

CM should be happy that Veerappa Moily contesting from Chikkaballapura. Already he contributed to dakshina kannada and udupi congress by destroying strong base of congress at South Canara. Here in Chikkaballapura also he do the same do not worry.. But what you have done Mr Yadiyoorappa. Sadananda Gowda from Puttur to Udui, Chandre gowda from Chikkamaglur to Bangalore. etc etc.

Cheap politics indeed. Seeds of discrimination and hate are sown. Be it insider-outsider, boundary dispute, language dispute, river water dispute, minority appeasement. Is this one India we are from. Can we mortgage our trust in this man. There is not a semblance of maturity in some of our politicians and BJP in particular.

Yeddi must have used wrong place, instead of Delhi he choose Mangalore. No problem, if Moily wins from here, its a fitting answer from a ex.CM. If fails better retire...

Mr.Yeddyurappa, you are telling that Congress candidate and former Chief Minister M. Veerappa Moily who was an “outsider” to the region. It is 100% true. Then what about Sadananda Gowda? who is from M'lore, contesting from Udupi-Chickmagalure?. D.B. Chandregowda is from Chickmagalure and contesting from Bangalore North?. Can you explain why you send Mr.Venkaiah Naidu to Rajyasabha from Karnataka, who is from Andhra Pradesh?. Mr.Yeddy, you are in a glass house, don't throw stones to others and it may rebound.
