M’lore: Radio Allows One to Ease into World of Imagination - H Dundiraj

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (SN/SP)

Mangalore, Apr 18: A programme, 'Banuli Bhandhavya,' was held at Sri Manjunatheswara Law College auditorium in the city on Friday April 17.

The event was organized by Radio Listeners Association.

Speaking on the occasion, H Dundiraj Prasad, Corporation Bank chief manager said that the women's addiction to watching television serials has led to the starvation of husbands and children in the house.

"Radio, in comparison, is the best companion of human beings. We can listen and enjoy every programme, simultaneously proceeding ahead with all our important chores. The radio provides an opportunity for the listeners to delve deep into their imaginations, while simultaneously listening to the radio, but television deprives this opportunity and blocks the possibility of slipping into the rich world of imagination," he explained.

Though the radio is just the audio medium, it has the unique power to grab the attention of the people. People expected radio to lose its hold over people after the invention of television, but it has maintained its position through out these years by adding special features, Dundiraj pointed out.

U Rama Rao, Radio Listeners Association president and Renuka Anantakrishna were present on the occasion.
