Udupi: Excise Raid - Beer, Liquor Seized in Town

Udupi, Apr 30: The Udupi excise department officials raided a room located in a complex located opposite a movie theatre here on Wednesday April 29 and confiscated 357 litres of liquor and 638 litres of beer illegally stored there. The value of the items seized has been put at around Rs.2.25 lac.

Inspector Manjunath Areguli and Shubhada Nayak conducted the raid. Further investigation is being conducted by excise inspector Manjunath Areguli, under the guidance of deputy superintendent H Puttaswami and direction of district excise commissioner M K Somaiah.

Excise personnel Premanand, Chandra Mogaveera, Diwakar, Sudhakar, Jaykumar, drivers Venkataramana Golla and Prakash Hiremutt had participated in the raid.
