Daijiworld Media Network - Puttur (TU/CN)

Puttur, Apr 30: Maulavi Muhammadh Saqafi who recently joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the presence of chief minister B S Yeddyurappa in Puttur, was allegedly assaulted by Kerala-based NDS workers at Adoor Pandi in Kasargod district.

It is believed the attack is in retaliation to his joining the BJP. He was waylaid and attacked by Abdul Thottam, Mainakai, Rahman, and Shamsuddin.

The Maulavi was later admitted to a private hospital in Puttur for treatment. The case has been transferred to Adoor police station in Kasargod.

Can anyone tell me what NDS stands for? Then we can decide whether it is moral policing or something else. Whatever the case is, I strongly condemn the attack on Moulavi, though I don''t agree with his stand to join BJP, as BJP is run by RSS, which has hidden agenda against minorities.

My prediction is that BJP will be known as a secular party in the future and Congress will try their best with religious and caste politics.

How many Maulavi Muhammadh Saqafi clones will BJP purchase? Any person with the title Maulavi will not make them a Muslim priest. Such Maulavis are jobless men making money by hook or crook.

First of all do these guys who assaulted the moulavi are members of NDS?. if so then there will be no difference between the moral policing by sangh parivar and NDS. this seems to be some other enimity between moulavi and NDS workers. police should enquire without any politics. beliving that assult is done due to joining BJP will be wrong thinking.

It is against Islam. As far as politics is concerned everyone has right to choose their own party. NDS act is against fundamental principles of Indian Constitution.

These NDS workers are not different than Rama Sene workers each individual has his/her own choice/taste. The NDS workers have no authority to assault the Maulavi for joining BJP because he is a Muslim.

It could be a personal grudge and not because of joining the BJP. Everybody has the full liberty to believe in any political party. The assault on Moulavi might be for something else.
