Daijiworld Media Network - Bangalore (SP)

Bangalore, Apr 30: It is learnt, the election observers have since confirmed to the Election Commission that Nanda Kumar, joint secretary of the Chief Minister, who has been facing the allegation of violating the poll code and working for the BJP had in fact, actively canvassed for the BJP. Using of government vehicle when on leave, moving about in Chikmagalur town in a private vehicle, delivering speech in the house of a BJP leader etc., point out to this aspect.

Reportedly, it is said these activities had not been video graphed. It is learnt, the State Election Commission has sent even the report of the deputy commissioner of the district to the Central Election Commission on these points. Election Commissioner Dr S Y Qureshi has already issued order to hold departmental inquiry against the tainted officer. It is expected, that as a first step, Nanda Kumar might be suspended any time now, pending departmental inquiry.
