Bantwal: Two Young Women Drown at Netravati River While Washing Clothes

Bantwal, May 2: Two young women were drowned in the Netravati River, here on Friday May 1 morning, when they had gone to wash clothes.
 
The deceased have been identified as sixteen year old Hemalatha and twenty four year old Revathi, both residents of Kudanegudde. It is reported that they had gone on a visit to their relative Gangayya Poojary, at Nati, near here, on Thursday April 30 evening.  They had also attended the local Nemotsav, along with Gangayya family on Thursday night.
 
The tragedy occurred when the duo had gone to wash their clothes in a nearby Netravati River, at about 11.00 am on Friday May 1. The Gangayya family , worried when both Hemalatha and Revathi had not return for a long time , continued their search on river bank.  The people residing along the river bank found the bodies of both the women floating at about 11.30 am on Friday.  The bodies were fished out and sent  to the  Government Hospital . After the post mortem , the mortal remains were   handed over for the final rites.
 
Bantwal town police have registered a case in this regard.
