M'lore: CET on May 6, 7 - Students Advised to Avoid Last Minute Confusions

Mangalore, May 4: The Combined Entrance Test (CET) for the current year, for admission of students into professional courses, will be held on May 6 and 7. In Dakshina Kannada district, there will be 12 centres, ten in the city and two in Puttur.

All arrangements are in place to ensure that the process goes on smoothly. The government has appointed the deputy commissioners of respective districts as the chief superintendents of examinations, with a view to facilitate smooth holding of the examinations.  12 observers at the rate of one each to every centre have been appointed. Senior lecturers have been made the question paper custodians of the centres, while principals of the institutions where the tests are scheduled to be held, have been made deputy chief superintendents.

A total of 6,832 candidates are scheduled to take up the CET in the district. Hall tickets have already been dispatched to the candidates by the CET cell in Bangalore. The students have been asked to arrive at the centres a day in advance and properly get acquainted with the venue where they are to appear for the examinations and the specific part of the building where their roll numbers have been allotted, to avoid last minute confusions.  The heads of the examination centres have already been directed to keep the centre equipped a day in advance.

The deputy commissioner has requested the students and their parents to extend all possible cooperation to the authorities for the smooth conduct of the examination.
