Mangalore: Melvyn Peris Nite Staged at Decennial Celebrations of Permannur YCS Unit

Mangalore, May 5: The decennial celebrations of Young Christian Students (YCS) unit of St Sebastian parish, Permannur, here was held on Sunday May 3 evening. 
 
Parish priest and YCS director Fr Thomas D’Souza presided over the programme.
 
Diocesan YCS director Fr Ronald D’Souza and Sandesha Award recipient Francis D’Cunha were the chief guests.
 
St Sebastian PU College principal Fr Clement Mascarenhas, correspondent and YCS assistant director Fr Victor D’Souza and parish council vice president Harry Tellis were the guests of honour.



























Melvyn Peris musical concert was staged at the parish grounds, here on Sunday May 3 after the stage programme.  It was held to mark the decennial celebrations of YCS unit of Permannur parish.
 
Konkani singers Joseph Pinto, Rony Crasta, Michael Miranda, Nester Peris, Anita Samson, Amabel Moras and Munita Veigas, led by ace musician Melvyn Peris enthralled the audience with various Konkani hit songs.  Sangeet Guru Joel Pereira was the music director while other musical accompaniment was provided by Roshan D’Souza on lead guitar, Ashith Pinto on base guitar, Melvyn Fernandes on rhythm pad, Naresh on tabla and Theo Alvares on trumpet. 
 
‘Naach Sobhann’, renowned dance troupe, staged its best performance of Konkani folk dance. 
 
Leslie Rego compered the programme.
