Bangalore: Sandalwood Actress Shruti Seeks Separation from Husband

Daijiworld Media Network - Bangalore (SP)

Bangalore, May 6: On Tuesday May 5, Sandalwood actress Shruti, known as the heroine of family dramas, who happens to be a BJP leader too, filed a divorce petition in the family court here. She is seeking divorce from her husband of 11 years, S Mahendar, whom she had married in 1998 after being in love with him for some time.

Shruti said, she wants to keep the reasons for seeking the divorce, a secret between the two of them. "I had thought of seeking divorce from him a few years ago, but put the idea on hold because of my celebrity status. I feel I have taken the right decision now," an emotional Shruti clarified.

It is said, Shruti has mentioned in her petition that she is unable to bear the mental torture of living with her husband who is deep in financial distress, having faced utter reverses in politics and who is unable to devote any attention to his daughter.

The couple has a daughter. Besides donning the role of heroine in several movies directed by Mahendar, Shruti had acted opposite her husband in the movie, 'Gattimela'. When Mahendar entered politics through the Congress Party, Shruti followed him. Even when Mahendar fought last year's assembly election as a BJP candidate from Kollegal constituency, Shruti campaigned for him actively. However, in this year's Lok Sabha election, Shruti was seen campaigning for the BJP on her own, without being accompanied by her husband. Shruti is also the chairperson of Women’s Development Corporation.

Please read the latest to this news - its all over the place - this marriage is being broken by "Shruthi" alias "cheat" because she already has married before the court divorce. This is the truth behind most divorces filed by women, at last the Women''s president has proved the truth, by enacting lawlessness - how can she get married before being properly divorced? She should resign from Child Development - what is the role model she is setting for children? Does she even care for her daughter or is that too some "unfortunate mistake, needed to be rectified"? Lots of questions...

Wife leaves husband when he is in financial trouble and is sufferring setbacks in life . This woman marraied this man when he was successful but when he is in trouble now she leaves him . This is called an empowered woman . I am proud of women like these who only will hang the wedding garland smelling money and success . Future :- The court will obvuously be very soft towards this woman and will not ask her to pay any maintenance to her poor husband , instead it will make the man sell his blood and kidneys to maintain the "loving" politician wife .

Mr. Brijesh Kumar, What unity you are talking about? In temples there is a seperate place for Brahmins and other low caste people. People of other cast cannot perform prayers along with upper caste people. Is it the Unity? By the name of Hindutva politicians are just looking forward to get some powerful chairs.

Dear Nivans. ok it might be the case that BJP has paid a huge amount for Shruthi. but do u think that all the celebrities who work for congress are doing charity show? they pay more than what BJP does. also she came to BJP not because that she had financial problems, but this is a clear state that all hindus around the world are getting united.. JAI SHRI RAM..

Is that the vow she gave during her marriage that they will be together during good times. When husband was flourishing she was around, but when he is in trouble is it not the duty of a wife to support him in his bad time. What a paradox
