Karkala, May 6: The inaugural of the three-day discourse on 'Sundara Kanda' section of Ramayana by Dr Pavan Bhat, was held at Veera Maruti Temple of Karkala on Tuesday May 5.
K Ramakrishna Joshi, chief priest of the temple, inaugurated the event, organized as part of the re-consecration of the renovated tower of the temple.
Bola Prabhakar Kamat, Renovation Committee president and K Sudhakar Kamat participated as chief guests.
K Ravindra Bhat, retired headmaster of Bhuvanendra High School delivered the introductory speech.
Prabhakar Pandit coordinated the programme. The Hindustani classical singer Mahalakshmi Shenoy rendered devotional songs on Lord Rama on the occasion.
Dr Pavan Bhat will be provided background support by Basrur Hanumanth Acharya on Tabla and Yennehole Vishwanath Bhat on harmonium, during the discourse.
