Bangalore: Engg Fees Cut for Poor, Merit Students

Bangalore, May 8: To help the poor, meritorious students, the state government has reduced the fees for engineering courses from Rs 25,000 to Rs 15,000. 

These are the students who get selected under the government quota (it is 50%). In the 50:50 engineering seat ratio, 25% will be kept for poor and meritorious students, but the remaining 25% of seats will have Rs 25,000 in fees.

Announcing this, chief minister B S Yeddyurappa said: "This will help students of this category to avail engineering education."
