Mangalore, May 9: Places like Gundya, Kokkada, Addahole and Shiradi Ghat regions of Dakshina Kannada direct received rains coupled with thunder on the night of Friday May 7. The temperature has affectively come down at these places. There are reports, that most of the places in Kogagu district too received average rains on Friday evening.

On the morning of Saturday May 9, widespread rains coupled with thunder, has been reported from most of the areas in the twin-districts. The cloudy weather since the morning, which later transformed into showers, brought welcome relief to the residents here. People, who got out, having no indication of the impending rain, were caught unawares, while families who are busy with auspicious occasions like marriage in the height of the season are worried about the likely impediments the rains might cause in the successful holding of the functions.
