Mangalore: KCCI Elated at the Election of Capt John Prasad as Deputy Master

Mangalore, May 10: Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry(KCCI) through a press release, has expressed its happiness at the unanimous election of  Capt John Prasad Menezes, its former president, who is currently the chairman of Shipping and Port Relations sub-committee of KCCI and KCCI's nominee trustee of NMPT,  as the deputy master of the Company of Master Mariners of India for the term 2009-11. The election court meeting of the company had been held at Mumbai on April 30 this year.

The Company of Master mariners of India was founded in 1956 by the Indian shipmasters who felt there was a need share their expertise with others. KCCI said, the Capt John Prasad Menezes is the first person in the 53 years of the company history that a person from outside Mumbai was elected as an office bearer of the company.

Menezes is also one of the 60 executive council members of the 'Nautiocal Institute' London, having branches all over the globe.
