Mangalore: All India Beach Volley Ball Tourney on May 23 and 24

Mangalore, May 10: A two-day Beach Volley Ball tournament will be held at Panambur on Saturday May 23 and Sunday May 24.

The event is being jointly organized by Dakshina Kannada Beach Volley Ball Academy and Mangala Friends Circle.

The beach volley ball tourney is being conducted for the first time in Karnataka. Around 20 teams consisting of national and international players will participate in the tourney, said B K Rao, State Beach Council convener, speaking at a press conference here  on Friday May 8.

Teams like  Andhra Pradesh team, State Bank of India team, Indian Customs team, BSNL, Tamilnadu Police, Goa Police, Maharastra State team, Cochin Refinery, Kerala Senior State team, Indian Youth team, Major Port and Karnataka State team will participate at the tourney, he said.

The winning team will be rewarded with a  trophy and cash prize of Rs 15,000, while the second, third and fourth placed teams  will get  Rs 10,000 , Rs 7,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively, said Rao.

The Academy will provide  food and accommodation facility, transport facility, daily and travel allowance, he said.
