Udupi, May 11: Sheena Kulal (67), a resident of Haluvalli near Kannar, Brahmavar, was murdered on the night of Saturday May 9. The policemen have arrested three persons, Prasad (25), Prashant (19) and Prakash (20), residents of the same village, who are the accused in the case.

Sheena Kulal is the elder brother of Lakshmi. Prakash wanted to marry Lakshmi's daughter Sumitra but Sheena Kulal was against this alliance.  Reportedly, a fight arose between Prakash and Sheena Kulal at Kulal's home on May 8 on this aspect. Prakash was reportedly angry at the stubborn opposition of Sheena Kulal to his niece's marriage with the former.

It is said, Prakash, accompanied by his friends Prasad, running a small shop in Kannar and Prashant from Mundkijeddu, who was doing pipeline jobs, came to Sheena's house. After picking up a quarrel, the three reportedly hit Sheena Kulal with a club on his head. Seriously injured Sheena died on way to hospital.

A case has been registered in this connection, at Brahmavar police station.
