Kumaraswamy Meets Sonia Gandhi at 10 Janapath

New Delhi / Bangalore, May 12 (IANS) : The Third Front led by the Left parties could be in for yet another jolt as one of its major leaders, H.D. Kumaraswamy of the Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S), Tuesday held an "informal meeting" with Congress chief Sonia Gandhi at her residence here.

"The report is true," a Congress leader who did not want to be named told IANS after TV channels aired the visuals of the former Karnataka chief minister's car entering Gandhi's 10 Janpath residence late evening. Kumaraswamy, who probably was not expecting the media presence there, apparently covered his face when cameras focused on him.

Congress spokesman Abhishek Manu Singhvi said the party was these days holding "informal meetings" with other "secular parties" to form post-poll alliances.

"We welcome all the secular parties," Singhvi told a TV channel while refusing to confirm Kumaraswamy's meeting with Gandhi.

JD-S spokesman Danish Ali did not respond to queries.

It was JD-S, led by former prime minister H.D. Deve Gowda, that initiated efforts to form the Third Front by organising a rally at Tumkur, near Bangalore in March.

The JD-S-Congress meeting is viewed as a jolt to the Left parties, which are trying to form an anti-Congress, anti-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government.

Two days ago, one of the key Third Front party, Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) led by K. Chandrasekhar Rao, attended a rally organised by the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Ludhiana.

A very bad move by the congress to woo these jokers who are on their last legs. This is a desperate move by the father and son con duo to crawl back. My advice to the congress party is simply dump this garbage and get along.

One of my good friend, who is ZP president from JDS. During my last visit to home town I had the privilege to meet him. During that time yedurappa and kumarswamy govt was in place. I asked my good friend, why did JDS, suppose to be a secular party supported BJP. Where is the secular face of JDS? To my surprise my good friend said... as long as you make money.. Ethics doesn’t matter.. be it BJP or congress. So, readers I feel we common people are fools to fight and write comments here about a particular party..end of the day money counts.. i will not be surprised if BJP pays kumarsway more than congress he will surely support BJP. He is not a trustworthy ally.

Dear Mr. Kumara Swamy whatever circus you make but its difficult for you to be in earlier position as you ditched both the parties. You ditched congress as well as B.J.P. so I don''t think both the parties will rely on you now.

Dear Sangeetha Madam, Mumbai A very good question and obvious answer looking at current scenario. Its very simple, its not about ideologies. If you are associated with BJP you are communal. Next day meeting at 10 Janpath you become secular. I think the gates of 10 Janpath is like Lakshman Rekha. Once people who cross it and go inside they become secular. I advice Modiji and Advani ji also just to enter 10 Janpath compound and wash your communcal image. May be just to wish Sonia ji Happy Bday. Tomorrow Kapil sibal will call a press conference and tell that Both Advani and Modi is secular then. Its very simple. Just a Address in Delhi changes peoples ideologies. Anything to stay in power. God save India from these power hungry people.

When Kumaraswami joins hands with BJP, he becomes ''communal''. On the other hand, when he joins hands with the Congress, he becomes ''Secular'' despite its involvement in the massacre of Sikhs during 1984 anti sikh riots. Shame on our political system. These politicians take the people of India for a royal ride.

ALL NEED POWER, AND POWER ONLY KEEP THEM RELEVENT IN NATIONAL POLITICS. VARIOUS COMBINATIONS ARE THOUGHT OF AND POST RESULT SCENARIO JUST STARTED UN-FOLDING. KUMARA SWAMY IS NOT AN EXCEPTION. BJP GIVEN THIS JOB TO JAITLY AND ANATHKUMAR, TO GARNER SUPPORT FROM NEW ALLIES. ITS ALL FOR POWER....SECULARISM A RELATIVE WORD, ALWAYS SUBJECTIVE IN ITS DESCRIPTION, ESPECIALLY FOR POLITICAL PARTIES, MORE SO FOR NON BJP. NON CONGRESS GROUPS.....LET''S HOPE FOR AN ACCEPTABLE, PROGRESSIVE, BROAD MINDED RULING FRONT TO SET UP AND LEAD US...
