Beltangady, Jun 28: Titular feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus celebrated at Madanthyar Church on Friday June 28.

Prior to the solemn Eucharistic celebration, the Relic of St Faustina which was brought from Poland was taken in procession inside the church and was blessed and installed by Dr Aloysius Paul DSouza, bishop emeritus of Mangaluru diocese. During the Eucharistic Fr Allwyn Richard Dsouza preached the homily and highlighted the message of the sacred of Jesus.

Sacred Heart of Jesus Church at Madanthyar has a History of over 125 years of its existence and over to her years it has grown spiritually and with the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Recently, a shrine was erected in the name of Sacred Heart of Jesus. Fr Basil Vaz, parish priest, had been to Poland and brought the Relic of St Faustina from whom the devotion of Divine Mercy had started. This relic of St Faustina is first-of-its-kind in India.



During the solemn celebration large number to priests and faithful were present.
