Bengaluru, Jun 28: Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister Dr G Parameshwara has announced that the State Government will come out with the New Industrial Policy soon.
He was speaking at the 102nd annual general body meeting of the Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FKCCI) in Bengaluru on Friday.
Dr Parameshwara, who is handling the IT/BT and Bengaluru development portfolios, proposed new industrial policy for the years 2019-24 and said the Tumakuru was being developed as Asia’s biggest industrial hub and 15,000 acres of land has been acquired for the purpose.
As many as 105 companies have come forward to make investments in the region, he said the government was seriously considering extending the proposed suburban railway system in Bengaluru up to Tumakuru and also take the metro rail system up to Tumakuru for its development to ease the pressure on Bengaluru.
Pointing out that the State was in the fourth position in the country in industrial and educational sectors, he said the new policy would be aimed at encouraging development of Tumakuru, Bidar and Ballari districts.
