Moodbidri: Citizen accuses municipality of contempt of court

Moodbidri, Jun 29: Petitioner Jaison Taccode, has complained to the deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district against the local municipality. He has said that the municipality has been continuing with the construction of the market building by neglecting the interim stay order passed by the high court to stop the works.

He said that the high court had issued interim stay against the construction on June 11 as the market building is being constructed close to Chowtara Aramane, a protected monument. He has asked the deputy commissioner in his complaint to direct the municipality to stop work forthwith. He has provided evidence in the form of photographs taken at the work spot.
