Mangaluru, Jun 29: Srinivas Hospital will be organizing ‘Dr B C Roy Health Camp’ to commemorate national Doctors’ Day.
The ten-day camp will be held at the hospital campus at Mukka from July 1 to July 10. The programme will commemorate National Doctors' Day which is observed in India on July 1 every in memory of legendary physician, philanthropist, freedom fighter and statesman Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy. He was Mahatma Gandhi’s friend and physician. After independence he served as the chief minister of West Bengal from 1948 up to his death in 1962. He was honoured with India’s highest award, the Bharath Ratna in 1961.
This camp is a tribute to Dr B C Roy whose 137th birth anniversary and 57th Death Anniversary both fall on the same day. It is also a wholehearted acknowledgement of the contribution of every member of the medical profession who strives day and night to serve the suffering humanity.
During the camp period the hospital will provide free outpatient consultation to the public. Diagnostic procedures, if required, will be performed on discount rates strictly on cost basis. Registration will be done free. Special concession will be given on tariff for treatments and surgeries in the following departments: Paediatrics, Gynaecology, Opthalmology, ENT, General Medicine, Orthopaedics, Pulmonary Medicine, General Surgery and Dermatology.
The objective of the camp is to promote health awareness among the public as envisioned in the ideals of National Doctors Day. This will be a great opportunity for the underprivileged sections of society to avail quality healthcare, clarify their doubts regarding health issues and address healthcare needs. Those interested may avail the facility by visiting the outpatient department of the hospital between 9 am and 4 pm. during the camp days. The hospital has urged the general public to take advantage of this opportunity and work towards improving their general health.
