Karwar, Jul 1: Two youngsters who were trying to swim in the Arabian Sea drowned at the beach here on Sunday June 30. It is learnt that the victims had come here to attend a marriage function.
The deceased Naveed Javed Qaji (17) and Nayeem Hanif Hebballi (21) were trying their hands as swimming in the sea when huge waves washed them away, it is said.
Naveed was from Saidapur, Dharwad, while Nayeem was from Mehboob Nagar in Dharwad. They were here to attend the marriage of a relative. The two were with some other friends when the tragedy happened.
The body of Naveed could be found sometime later. Search for the mortal remains of Nayeem is on with the coming together of police personnel and personnel of Coastal Security Force.
