Byndoor, Jul 1: Gopal (36) from Honnimadi House in Yalajit village in the taluk, who was hurt by the negative feelings about his married life, ended his life. In a complaint filed in Byndoor police station, his sister Girija, stated that Gopal (36) killed himself.

Gopal had married a girl 12 years ago. His wife quarrelled with him on the issue of family matters, and left home two years ago. Gopal was hurt by this development. On June 25 morning, he tried to end his life by hanging himself from a cashew tree opposite his residence. The family members noticed this, brought him down, and took him to the government hospital at Kundapur. After providing initial treatment there, he was admitted into a private hospital at Udupi. As the charges at this hospital were quite high, the family took him to Ajjarkad government hospital on June 29. The doctors who checked Gopal, confirmed that he was no more," the complainant stated.
