Kundapur, Jul 2: Executive officer of Spoorthidhama orphanage and rural development society at Koteshwar, Keshava Koteshawara, was denied bail by the high court on Monday July 1. Keshava has been charged with rape and sexual harassment of the inmates of the orphanage.

Keshava Koteshwar had filed two separate petitions seeking bail. The single judge bench of the high court presided over by Justice Sunil Dutt Yadav quashed both the pleas.

The accused has sought interim bail to visit his mother suffering from depression. The bench asked the public prosecutor to file a report on the practicability of allowing him to meet his mother with police escort.

Keshava Koteshwar had been arrested on March 14 this year on the charge of remaining silent even though he was aware of the rape and sexual harassment on the girls at the orphanage by a person named Hanumanth.
