Mangaluru: Doctors’ day celebrated at FMHMC

Mangaluru, Jul 2: Doctors Day, 1st July, was celebrated at Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College (FMHMC) to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr B C Roy. Dr Shivaprasad, principal of the College welcomed the gathering.

Dr Srinath Rao, professor and HOD, department of Materia Medica was felicitated remembering his dedicated services of over 30 years in the Institution. A citation was read out by Dr Jacintha Monteiro, PG coordinator and professor, department of Organon of Medicine.

Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho presided over the function and garlanded the portraits of Dr B C Roy and Father Muller. Later, he felicitated the doctors and addressed the gathering. In his address, he stressed upon the duties of the doctors to the society and appreciated the toiling efforts they put into serving the people.



Fr Roshan Crasta wished all the doctors and offered a rose to the postgraduate scholars as a token of appreciation. He emphasised the fact that medical profession is one of the noblest professions and doctors are regarded as next to divine providence.

The programme concluded with a short film that was screened which depicted the services of doctors.
