Bantwal, Jul 3: ICYM Madanthyar unit in association with JCI and JCRT Madanthyar and Catholic Sabha Madanthyar unit celebrated Laudato Si’ Sunday on June 30, at Sacred Heart church premises.

Fr Basil Vas, parish priest was the president and Hariprasad, range forest officer were the chief guest of the programme. Assistant parish priest Fr Stany Pinto, Fr Jerome D'Souza, principal of SHPU College, Ronald Sequeira, vice president, Leo Rodrigues, secretary of parish pastoral committee, Arun Moras, president JCI Madanthyar, Philip D’Cunha, president of Catholic Sabha Madanthyar and Sweebert D'Souza, president of ICYM Madanthyar were present on the dais. A message on importance of environment and protection of nature was given by Hariprasad, range forest officer.

More than 3000 free samplings were distributed to all the parishioners through the ward gurkars. As special attraction monsoon food 'Khube mutli', 'Patrade' and 'Patholi' were prepared and sold by the ICYM youth. Tyson D’Cunha hosted the programme. Philip D’Cunha, welcomed the gathering and Leo Rodrigues, delivered vote of thanks.
