Mangaluru: Lethal attack on girl student - Accused being presented in court on Wednesday

Mangaluru, Jul 3: Diksha, a postgraduate student who had been repeatedly stabbed by a youngster near Deralakatte Bagambila has been showing good improvement in health condition with the passage of each day. A team of seven doctors has been keeping close watch on her condition.

Diksha had come under an attack launched by Sushanth from Kulshekar here with a knife. The seven doctors have been drawn from different departments including cardiology and nephrology. Sources said that considering the seriousness of injuries, Diksha might need a number of days to recover.

Sushanth's condition has also improved a lot. He is likely to be taken into custody by the policemen on Thursday and produced in the court the same day. Police sources said that a final decision about this would be taken after holding detailed discussions with senior officials in the department.

The police may seek custody of the accused after producing him in the court as they want to bring on record more evidences and records.
