Udupi, Jul 4: “The activists of Sri Rama Sene Karnataka, Udupi district are planning to hold ‘Belagavi Chalo’, a rally to reach Belgavi on July 8, demanding the handover of Shivu Uppar case to CBI,” said president of Sri Rama Sene Jayaram Ambekallu.

Jayaram was speaking to the media at the press club in the city on Thursday, July 4. He further said, “The teenager, young activist Shivu Uppara’s death seems too unnatural and suspicious. 18-years-old Shivu’s body was found hanging in Belagavi. But he is not at all the kind of weak-minded person and coward. He got some threatening audios and videos against his life. There is a conspiracy going behind to close this case. So the activists of Sri Rama Sene, cattle lovers, Hindu associations and several Math heads participate in the protest. As many as 150 members from Udupi will join this protest rally.”

“The main demand is that Shivu Uppara’s case should be handed over to CBI.  The cow smugglers, recorded in the phone call should be investigated. Police should be investigating call details of Shivu Uppara’s mobile. The government should give Rs 10 lakhs as compensation. Shivu’s father should be recruited in government health department on sympathy grounds. The Karnataka Government should stop illegal cattle trafficking and shut down illegal cow slaughtering houses immediately,” said Jayaram.

To commemorating  Shivu Uppar, the activists will  perform Gopooja in Dhumavathi temple near Aryadi Gudde.

Sri Rama Sene Karnataka Udupi activists D Radhakrishna Shetty, honorary president Dinesh Pangala, vice-president Mangaluru divison Sharath Poojary, Manipal, general secretary, Yashwanth Kallianpur and organizing secretary Sunil Shetty Bailuru were present.
