Bangalore, May 25: Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyu-rappa, who has smelt conspi-racy from some internal and external forces to topple him, has issued instructions to Intelligence Police to monitor movements of BJP MLAs and Ministers, it is learnt.

The Intelligence Police personnel, who have intensified their activities keep the Chief Minister informed about the movements of Ministers and MLAs, like who will meet them, where do they go and the kind of discussions they hold.

The Intelligence personnel are deployed in Legislators' Homes, Vidhana Soudha, Vikasa Soudha, multi-storey buildings, residences of Ministers and MLAs, prominent hotels and resorts.

More than eight Intelligence officials on Saturday were seen keeping a watch on the movement of MLAs and Ministers at Vidhana Soudha and Vikasa Soudha. When they were asked, they said that they had orders from superiors. Accordingly, they were doing their duty.

They are also keeping a watch on MLA M.P. Renukacharya, who is considered to be a rebel. Similarly, they are watchful of other MLAs and Ministers also.

The BJP Government is yet to complete one year in power in the State. Under the leadership of Yeddyurappa, BJP has secured 19 seats in the State in the Lok Sabha election.

The way the Intelligence Police are active, unheard of in the past, proves that there is no smoke without fire.

The fact that the movement of Muzrai Minister Krishnaiah Setty, during his visit to the temples in the city on Friday to inspect the development works was video-graphed by an Intelligence officer, has triggered controversy.

Reddy Factor

According to sources, more than 10 Ministers met Tourism Minister Janardhan Reddy on Friday after the Cabinet meeting and complained that they had no freedom to work and hence work in their departments are not going on at a fast pace. If the situation continues like this, it may lead to problems in future. They requested him to find a solution to their problem. Reddy, however, advised them to wait for sometime, sources said.
