Mangaluru, Jul 8: In the installation ceremony held at Monica hall, Milagres Church, on Sunday, July 7, toastmaster Mahima Bhat took over as the president for the year 2019-20.
TM Prof Maria Dcosta was the chief guest of the day. In her address to the gathering she spoke about having these main things to achieve success in life, Dedication determination and positivity. Without it we may never reach our goals. Other people have the power to help motivate you to try harder, but in the end you need to be the one to have the determination, dedication and positivity to keep going and to continue fighting for your goals. She ended her speech quoting Ralph Waldo Emerson, “We aim above the mark to hit the mark.”
Area director TM Vidya Shenoy administered the oath of office to the new team of office bearers for 2019-2020. Officers of the new team are VP Education - Azma Sheikh, VP PR - Ashwin Shetty, VP Membership - Sudheer Kumar, treasurer Amitha Shetty, secretary Sharline Rodrigues, SAA Pradyumn Shenoy and TM Balakrishna Prabhu (immediate past president).
Toastmasters present at the ceremony were district administration manager DTM Savitha Salian, club mentor DTM Dr C K Ballal, division director DTM Shivani Baliga, area directors, TM Sukanya Rao, TM Oliver Dsouza, DTM CA MN Pai, DTM Brian Fernandes, DTM Divyashree Gatti, DTM Sameena Nayak, Dr. Bharati Somayajji, and Dr Shashikala Shetty,TM Sukanya Rao, TM Kavitha Kamath (President of MTM), TM Marina Seema (VPED of MTM),TM Aashritha Shenava(President of Inspiron toastmasters), TM Fiona Moras (VPED of Inspiron toastmasters) ,TM Nikita Lorraine Menezes (President of Manipal Udupi toastmasters), and VPED TM Rashmika Rajaram , TM Reshma karkera (President of Proact toastmasters), Dr Shashikala (President of Bantwal toastmasters), Dr Bharati (VPED of Bantwal toastmasters) TM Supritha Harishankar( VPM NITK toastmasters), and Meghana Gokhale (secretary of the NITK toastmasters). All the guests felicitated the incoming officers.
Master of ceremony Leona Aranha flawlessly executed the events of the day. The program started with a prayer by Sudheer Kumar. Outgoing president, Balakrishna Prabhu welcomed the gathering, shared his experiences and the club’s achievements of the past year 2018-19.
DTM Dr C K Ballal announced the outstanding toastmasters’ award of the year 2018-19 to TM Aatish Prabhu. TM Azma Sheikh presented a wonderful Secretary's report for the year 2018-19 with a neat presentation. TM Amitha Shetty introduced the chief guest of the day. TM Mahima, incoming President Delivered the acceptance speech and acknowledged the presence of the guests.TM Anupama Shetty delivered the vote of thanks.TM Sharline was that fine thread which connected all these pearls to present the wonderful moments through her camera.
Milagres Toastmasters Club meets every alternate Sunday at Monica Hall, Milagres Church, Hampankatta, in the city at 9.15 am.
