Udupi: KRV President Warns Suzlon

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Jun 4: "The industries which do not employ local work force are neither needed by Udupi district, nor Karnataka state. If the industries overlook Kannadigas and provide jobs to north Indians, the disturbances that had occurred in Mumbai might take place here too. Not only Suzlon, but also all the multi-national companies should wake up to the warning and act," warned Karnataka Rakshna Vedike (KRV) state president Narayana Gowda. He was addressing the KRV unit meeting of the Suzlon employees held at Narayanaguru Hall of Padubidri in the district on Wednesday June 3.

"The companies which promised to give employment to the members of families which sacrificed their lands for them are now breaking the promise and giving employment to north Indians. If the company continues to follow this policy, the day will not be far off when it will be forced to close down. To force the company to fall in line, protests will be held not only in Udupi district, but all over the state," he said.

Dwelling further on the issue, Gowda demanded from the government to implement the Sarojini Mahishi Committee report in toto. Every Company that sets up shop here should provide at least 80% of the vacancies to locals, he demanded.

He advised the participants not to be afraid to face the batons and not to get enticed by lures. "Bring the injustices of the company to the notice of peoples' representatives. If they fail to act, hold protests against them," he said.

KRV state women’s unit vice president Zohra Nissar Ahmed, Udupi district president Satish Kalmady, DK district president Satish Salmara and various other leaders were present. In view of the arrival of the state level leader of the Vedike, elaborate security was provided to Suzlon company by the policemen.

This is the pure failure of our political system.Suzlon should give first preference by giving jobs to those who lost their lands, next to localites & karnataka people & last they should give to outsider. In the udupi/mangalore area lot of educated people available with all skills too. This is purely because of our system failure & unity. What is the use of bringing industries without the benifits of local employment? KRV keep up the good work. KRV kindly bring up this issue infront of Govt. side.

The State Government should take the responsibility of demanding Jobs for the Localites and Kannadiga''s in the on going projects. It is the duty of our district in charge Ministers to apprise the State Government regarding the ground reality.

Tomorow in the election manifesto they will boast that we brought this industry or that Industry. What is the use of bringing industries without the benifits of local employment? KRV keep up the good work.
