Bangalore: Shree Swamy Wins Karnataka Sahithya Akademi Award for Translation

Bangalore, Jun 10: The historically significant treatise “Origin of Christianity in and around Srirangapattana” (originally researched and penned by Fr Dr I Anthappa in Kannada as “Srirangapatanadalli mattu Suttamuttalalli Kraista Dharmada Ugama”) translated into English by P C Anthony Swamy, popularly known as Shree Swamy, has been adjudged as the best translated literary work for the year 2007 by Karnataka Sahithya Academy (under the aegis of Govt. of Karnataka) and is selected for “Sahithya Academy Award”.



The award will be conferred on the translator Shree Swamy in a glittering function at Jamkhandi during last week of July 2009.
