Mangalore, Jun 11 (DHNS): The government has approved 118 projects for Mangalore region through single window system, expecting Rs 1,513.38 crore investment and 60,323 jobs, said Minister for Large Scale and Medium Industries Murugesh Nirani.
Addressing Mysore divisional-level industrial adalat at Dr T M A Pai International Convention Centre here on Wednesday, he said a high-level committee has also passed four other projects for the region, expecting Rs 1,788 crore investment and creation of 32,734 jobs.
The single window system has passed a total of 310 projects for the whole State, expecting Rs 5,181 crore investment and generation of 1,35,623 jobs, while the high-level committee has approved 44 projects. An investment of Rs 1,05,266 crore and about 4,10,840 jobs have been expected in this connection, the minister informed.
Nirani said the government has decided to give more importance to the industrial development in the coastal region in the coming days, for which a blue-print has been chalked out. “The New Industrial Policy 2009-2014, SEZ Policy, Suvarna Karnataka Development Corridor and the Land Bank project will help the coastal belt for this purpose,” he noted.
The minister said the State government is taking steps to bring out a New Industrial Revival and Exit Policy in order to give new life to the sick units.
“Even the Industrial Adalat is intended to solve the cases related to the industries pending for several years.”
“ The first adalat of Belgaum division was held at Hubli, where 90 per cent of the cases were solved on the spot,” Nirani explained.
The third adalat of Gulbarga division will be held at Hospet on July 17.
There will also be a similar adalat in Bangalore next month, the minister informed.
In his address, MLA N Yogish Bhat urged the government to improve infrastructure in the Baikampady industrial area, including continuous power supply.
He also stressed on the necessity of supporting small scale industries and providing sufficient market for their products.
Coastal Development Authority Chairman B Nagaraj Shetty, Deputy Commissioner V Ponnuraj among others were present on the occasion.
170 cases solved
The Mysore divisional-level industrial adalat solved 170 cases out of the 250 petitions received from eight districts, said Minister for Large Scale and Medium Industries Murugesh Nirani.
Addressing media persons in the afternoon, he said the remaining cases would be solved within he next 30 days.
All complex cases related to finance and tax departments will be solved through a meeting of the proprietor concerned, Principal Secretary and the Industrial Commissioner, to be held in Bangalore, he informed.
