Karkala, Aug 17: In an accident which happened on the road in front of Bajagoli school in Mudaru village in the taluk at 3 pm on Friday August 16, a pedestrian lost his life. The accident happened when a car hit two persons walking by the roadside.
Jayananda Poojary from Nalloor Nellikar, who was walking by the mud road on the left side of Karkala - Dharmasthala state highway at Bajagoli along with wife, and Raghuram Achary, another pedestrian, were hit by a Maruti Alto car from behind. As a result, Jayanand Poojary suffered serious injuries to his head and legs, and passed away on the spot.
Raghuram Achary too sustained serious injuries to his head. He was admitted into the government hospital in the town. The police here registered a case based on a complaint filed by Mallika Poojarthi, wife of the deceased.
