Mangalore: Workshop on Singing Konkani Children's Songs at Bangalore

Mangalore, Jun 22: Vishwa Konkani Kendra - Konkani Bhas Ani Sanskriti Foundation Mangalore, in association with Dr P Dayanand Pai and P Satish Pai Foundation Bangalore, will be holding a workshop for reciting children's songs for three days at Sri Kashi Mutt, 19th main, Malleshwaram,  Bangalore from June 15 to 27, 2009.

Chitra Shirali, Dharwad Akashvani artiste, will be the resource person for the workshop, while Dr Jyotsna Krishnanand Kamat will be the director. MLA N Yogish Bhat will inaugurate the workshop at 9.30 am on June 25. Renowned vocalist Lalita Rao and well known journalist Santosh Kumar Gulwady besides director of Akashvani Kendra Bangalore Chetan S Naik will take part in the function as honorary guests.

At the valedictory function to be held at 5.30 pm on Saturday June 27, Vishwa Konkani Kendra Mangalore chairman emeritus and former Karnataka minister R V Deshpande will be the chief guest. Century Developers Bangalore president and Vishwa Konkani Kendra Mangalore chairman P Dayanand Pai will preside. Doordarshan Kendra Bangalore director Usha Kini will participate as guest.

Through a press release, Konkani Bhas Ani Sanskriti Foundation secretary Venkatesh Baliga has informed, that over 60 women from the length and breadth of Karnataka will take part in the workshop.
