Udupi, Aug 27: YCS conference of Shirva deanery was held on August 25 at St John's Academy hall, Pangala. The holy eucharist was celebrated by Fr Ferdinand Gonsalves, parish priest of Shankarpura.
The programme began by lighting a lamp. Frinston Castelino, deanery president welcomed the gathering.
Fr Denis D'Sa graced everyone with their thought provoking message.
Fr Reginald Pinto, resource person gave a talk on ‘Self identity’.
The session gave an insight to the YCS students on how one's identity gets affected by the individual's parents and society. Dr Jerald Issac Lobo, bishop of Udupi diocese visited the programme and enlightened the students self identification. various cell activities were conducted. Cell meetings were held which involved discussions based on the topic of artificial intelligence by reflecting on the methodology of YCS that is see, judge and act which enabled the YCS'ers to express their views and interact in their cells. Cultural programmes like street plays and baila dances were performed by the YCS members.
The programme came to a close by singing the YCS anthem.

Fr Vishal Lobo, Shirva deanery YCS director Fr Ferdinand Gonsalves, Fr Reginald Pinto, resource person Brayan Alphonso, deanery animator Frinston Castelino, deanery president Elishia D'Souza, deanery secretary were the dignitaries of the programme.
155 YCS members from Shirva deanery, animators from various Shirva deanery units, siocese council members attended the programme.
