Udupi, Sep 2: Workers of Congress party, Udupi district, have expressed mixed opinion over the statement of Veerappa Moily who reportedly said that Pramod Madhwaraj should apply again for the membership of Congress party.

Congress party members Amrutha Krishnamurthy, Divaker Kunder, Narayan Kunder, Ramesh Kanchan, Vijay Poojary Bailoor, Selina Karkada have supported Pramod Madhwaraj. In a press release released by them they have said, “We have worked for the Congress-JD(S) coalition candidate based on high command decision. This coalition was just for the Lok Sabha elections. After election, Congress party workers remain as Congress party workers only. There is no misunderstanding between the Congress workers. As said by Veerappa Moily, the Congress members who worked for the coalition candidate, are ready to apply again for the membership.”

Even though Pramod Madhwaraj has not reacted for Veerappa Moily’s comment against him, supporters of Pramod are now condemning Moily’s statement. Udupi district Congress after the Lok Sabha elections has become clueless about leadership. The question whether Pramod Madhwaraj is a party member or not has also made party workers confused. Pramod himself has also not given any comment about his membership in Congress party. Party workers had also questioned about the same in various meetings when state leaders visited the district.
