Mangaluru, Sep 7: YCS organized Inter Ward Solo and Group Devotional Hymn Competition under the able and proficient guidance of Fr Anil D Mello, parish priest, on September 1. The occasion was graced by the esteemed presence of the parish priest.

The event initiated with a prayer song led by YCS .The individual solo was held in 6 categories -5-10 years, 10-15 Years, 16-30 Years, 30-50 Years, 50-70 Years, 70 and above. Melodious and soothing hymns pulled the heartstrings of the audience. In group singing, 10 wards participated, each showing their mastery over voice modulation, pitch, rhythm and tone.

Judges Ivan and Sonia Rodrigues thoroughly enjoyed the mellifluous solo and group hymns. Ivan shared his views about the competition and also gave his valuable suggestions to help the parishioners to do better in the future. Nityadar ward was declared the winner, St Francis the Assisi was adjudged the first runners-up and Mother Teresa secured the third position.

Br Ivan welcomed the dignitaries and Cynthia rendered the vote of thanks.
