Udupi, Sep 14: Savita Y serving as English language lecturer in Government Pre University College, Brahmavar, was presented Best Lecturer Award for the year 2019-20. The award was presented by chief minister Yediyurappa in a programme held in Ambedkar Bhavan, Bengaluru. Minister of education Suresh Kumar, deputy chief minister Ashwath Narayana, MLC Sharanava, MLA Devegowda, Puttanna and others were present.

Savita has been striving for all-round development of students by holding special classes for students who lag behind and helped more than 160 students secure more than 99% marks in second PUC every year.

She works as NSS project officer and has held special camps in very special manner repeatedly for eight years making students benefit out of them. She has amazingly hosted state level NSS girl’s youth festival providing best facilities for students coming from all over the state for them.

She has provided training to teenage girls from different colleges on life skills filling them with courage, self-confidence and selflessly tried hard so that they may note lose hope even during trying circumstances. She has also actively indulged in cultural activities. She took part in Sweep committee and held street plays, stories, songs and created Yakshagana songs and tried to create awareness among voters. She has shown Mahishasura Mardini Yakshagana play in Uttarakhand under Ek Bharath Shresta Bharath scheme as part of Indian culture.
