Heavy rainfall in Mumbai: Traffic jam, waterlogging in several parts of city

Mumbai, Sep 25: The city witnessed heavy rainfall along with thunderstorm in the early morning hours on Wednesday. Several parts of the city experienced road traffic and waterlogging.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the latest satellite and radar images indicate that a severe thunderstorm situation has formed currently over Mumbai and nearby areas, reported ANI.

IMD has also said that a severe thunderstorm is hovering over Mumbai and nearby regions in Maharashtra as the satellites and radar images captured by it show the presence of heavy clouds over Mumbai.

"Intense rain to continue in parts of Mumbai, Mumbai suburban, Palghar, #Alibag, Virar, Bhiwandi, Kalyan, Dombivli, Dongri, Borivali, Goregaon, Mulund, Powai, Juhu, Dadar, Bandra, Chembur, Colaba, Navi Mumbai, Kurla, Mira Bhayandar and Thane during next 4-6 hours," tweeted a private weather forecast agency Skymet.
