Mangaluru: Konkani Natak Sabha distributes prizes to inter-parish competition winners

Mangaluru, Sep 30: The prize distribution ceremony of the annual competitions conducted during the year by Konkani Natak Sabha® Mangaluru was held on September 28 at Don Bosco Hall here.

The competitions held during the year were elocution, kavitha recital, singing, fancy dress, dance and Voviyo verse.

In the singing competition, below 15 years category out of city parishes, Vittla parish bagged the first place, Neermarga parish won the second and Permannur parish the third. Among the city parishes, Cordel parish bagged the first place, Bejai parish the second and Jeppu parish, the third place.



In the above 15 years category out of city parishes Ranipura parish bagged the first place, Gurupur parish won the second, Kinnigoli parish the third. Among the city parishes Cordel parish bagged the first, Angelore parish the second and Jeppu parish, the third place.

Neermarga and Vittla parishes bagged overall championship in the children and adults category among out of city parishes. Cordel parish bagged overall championship in the children and adults category among city parishes.

In the fancy fress competition Cordel parish bagged the first place, Jeppu parish stood second and Permannur third place in the below 15 years category. Cordel parish bagged the first place, Jeppu parish second and Permannur parish the third place in the above 15 years category.

In the dance competition Cordel parish bagged the first place, Permannur parish stood second and Angelore third place in the below 15 years category. Cordel Parish bagged the first place, Permannur Parish second and Cascia Parish the third place in the above 15 years category.

In Voviyo verse competition Cordel parish bagged first place, Mariyashram parish the second and Jeppu parish, the third place.

Cordel parish bagged overall championship in all the competitions held during the year.

The prizes of the competitions were distributed by the President of KNS Fr Paul Melwyn D’Souza along with Santhosh Sequeira, proprietor, Santhosh Arrangers and parish priest of Jeppu parish Fr Clifford Fernandes.

Vice president Sunil Menezes, general secretary Judith D’Souza, treasurer Jerald Concessao and joint secretary Floyd D’Mello, Raymond D’Cunha, Jossy Theodore, Clitus Lobo, Keith Furtado, Tresa Pinto, Don Bosco Hall Manager Boniface Pinto among others were present.

President Fr Paul Melwyn D’Souza welcomed the gathering. Vice president Sunil Menezes read the list of prize winners and congratulated them on behalf of Konkani Natak Sabha and rendered the vote of thanks. Raymond D’Cunha compered the programme.
